Description: Stunning beach location, on St. George Island where the Potomac meets the Chesapeake Bay. CampMD has beautiful beach front cottages with all the modern-day amenities such as air conditioning, microwaves, fully stocked kitchens, wi-fi, and cable TV. Family activities include fishing, swimming, mini golf, ping pong, bicycling and various other activities. Cottages range in size from efficiencies up to 6 bedrooms, enabling us to accommodate most any size family group. For those looking for a more adventurous getaway, CampMD has tent sites which are located right along the water’s edge. All cottages and tent sites have fire pits and picnic tables but most importantly a great view of the beach and river. The park is located 1.5 hours South of Washington DC, but from the looks of it you would think you are halfway around the world.
Recreation: Recreation includes, motorboat, canoe and kayak rentals, 2 playgrounds, beach volleyball, fishing pier, swimming, mini golf, ping pong, bicycling and various other activities. Boat slips and public boat ramps are 10 minutes away.
Amenities: Amenities include a bath house, laundry facility, a camp store, a lighted fishing pier, clean sandy beach, and a kid-friendly “shallow water” swimming area. The campground is equipped with WiFi internet service. Pets are allowed, with restrictions. The campground accepts credit cards, and offers discounts.
Travel Directions: From Waldorf South on Route 5 to Callaway South on Route 249 until you cross the bridge on St. George’s Island. Go one mile turn right on first paved road. Go one mile, bear right at fork, go straight to end. [ map ]
